Working on Hospitality

So our family has been working on serving others.
Hospitality is our focus this week.
We invited a good friend over and her little munchkins for lunch.
We started our lesson by making a menu.

LUNCH
Bologna sandwiches
Peanut butter and Jelly sandwiches
Melon
Green Chicken Salad
Goldfish (for the toddler to snack on)
Apple Juice
Lemonade
Cookies for dessert

Then we went to the store to buy the items we needed.
:)
Rebecca went to work making dessert, COOKIES!!
Yes they are as good as they look!
Belle was in charge of making the sandwiches.
Sorry it is blurry.
She put together the lettuce, chicken, cheese and cucumbers for the salad.
I cut the melon because these kids love it tooooo much!  There would not be any to serve if I left it up to them it would all be in their bellies!!

Here is what the girls put together for our friends.
Oh here are the cookies up close.
It was a lovely afternoon.
The girls served the food, entertained the kiddos, and cleaned up.
We got to fellowship and grow stronger ties with a family we love.
We even had a gift of a flower to send them home with.
They did such a good job!

We are going to do this again in a few days with another family we adore.

3 John 1:5

The Message (MSG)

Model the Good

5-8 Dear friend, when you extend hospitality to Christian brothers and sisters, even when they are strangers, you make the faith visible. They’ve made a full report back to the church here, a message about your love. It’s good work you’re doing, helping these travelers on their way, hospitality worthy of God himself! They set out under the banner of the Name, and get no help from unbelievers. So they deserve any support we can give them. In providing meals and a bed, we become their companions in spreading the Truth.
