Today over 10,000 bloggers from around the world will unite to raise their voices on behalf of more than 40 million voiceless refugees. To ask the world to face the atrocities so many human beings must endure and to join hearts and minds to help bring forward information, understanding and action.

I can't even imagine how horrible the actuality of missing a family member and not knowing if they are alive or dead, or hurt, alone, afraid, or were they tortured. For many families in the world that is just part of life. When you send your son out to get water for the family will he return or will he be taken away because of his race or religion? When you know that there is evil approaching how do you send your young children out of the house in the dark to run away and hopefully find safety, just so that you can hold off the angry individuals that are coming to hurt you. You promise them to run and that you will (hopefully) come and find them soon. How do you unite again? They are running scared, so are you. Where do you turn? Have you lost them forever? Now your mind is turning with thoughts of if they did not get away, what has happened to them?

Dear Lord, that must be one of the most helpless feelings on the earth. As a mother, I would be insane with worry. I worry just sending them off to school when I drop them off right in front and watch them walk inside. The though of not knowing where they were or what was or did happen to them is terrifying to me.

We know that this is happening. We try not to think about it to often. Really it is not something that we see everyday in America , and we are very fortunate for that. It is only something that ends up in the movies every once in a while. Oh yeah, we remember then and isn't that to bad for those people. Well you know what? It is worse than to bad.

There is an organization that has stepped up to the plate and is doing something. They are called Refugees United.

Refugees United is a non-profit organization that helps refugees relocate family and friends through the use of the internet.

Refugees United provides refugees with an anonymous forum to reconnect with missing family. By registering with nick- names, scars, former locations and other markers only identifiable to family and close friends, everyone can remain 'invisible' to all but relatives.

  • All refugees are welcome, regardless of conflict, place or time.
  • Refugees United is an independent, non-political, non-religious NGO.
  • No third party is involved. No official papers need to be filled in.
  • The service is free of charge, easy and safe.

Please, look up the site Refugees United and see all the good work that they do. Try to remember to pray for those families. It is more than a problem, it is a human right. Everyone should know the fate of their family.
